Their "Baseball Tonight"-type show will be on from 6 p.m. until the last out of the last game. That makes Baseball Tonight obsolete. ESPN's coverage of baseball has been a joke the last few years. Their top analysts are John Kruk and Steve Phillips. I mean, really?Andrew Fletcherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00891903681627777912noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3297014613661913479.post-80882197101868401612009-01-08T07:38:00.000-05:002009-01-08T07:38:00.000-05:00Peter Gammons is one of the reasons why I hate ESP...Peter Gammons is one of the reasons why I hate ESPN. They try to use their constant air time to put down the Yankees at any cost. The tide is turning though and just like it the beginning of the last century, Boston was on top. And its quickly becoming the time when New York pushes past them again and Boston remains an after thought.

With the launch of the MLB Network, its just a matter of time before MLB takes airing rights away from ESPN and probably Fox as well for their crap-tastic Saturday afternoon own-age. The NFL Network is hotly debated and will probably remain so for sometime but who wants to bet the NFL doesnt re-up the Monday Night Football contract with ESPN in favor of airing it on their own network? Its just good business. Why have ESPN pay you (MLB or NFL) to air your games, then rake on the advertising revenue when you can keep the games, air them on your own network and reek the advertising benefits for yourself?

With the MLBN now on air for all people with a cable bill to view, theres no need to wait until 10 or 11pm each night to see ESPN's Boston bias Baseball Tonight crew. In time ESPN stock will diminish and when the Yankees win a World Series and are standing on the field being interviewed by Al Leiter and Hazel Mae instead of Peter Gammons and Joe Morgan....that will be a glorious time indeed!Bostownedhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10989682218239404482noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3297014613661913479.post-36758401987837709392009-01-07T23:12:00.000-05:002009-01-07T23:12:00.000-05:00Thanks, Anonymous. He said A-Rod was the first player in Texas to invite him and his wife out for dinner after he signed with the Rangers and they had no problem as teammates. He also said they talked hitting all the time in Texas and he learned alot from A-Rod.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
