Swept away

Thankfully, I was not around to watch the game this afternoon. You would think the Yankees would be able to score more than five runs in Coors Field, right? They should be able to score five runs in one inning, let alone five runs in 27 innings. The latter is exactly what the Yankees did in the process of getting swept at the hands of the Colorado Rockies.

Peter Abraham did the calculations and noted that the Yankees were 21-94 in this series with one, count 'em, one home run. That won't win you many games. In fact, it won them none in Colorado this week.

The Yankees are now 10.5 games behind Boston in the AL East. They also 6.5 games behind Cleveland and Detroit in the Wild Card.
