The Yankees have purchased the contract of 1B/OF/DH Shelley Duncan from AAA Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. This is a move that I, and many other Yankee fans have been calling for, so I'm glad to see it happen.
In Scranton, Duncan is batting .295 with 25 home runs and 79 RBIs in 336 at-bats. Basically, he's the Alex Rodriguez of the International League.
To make room on the Major League roster, the Yankees have optioned out Kevin Thompson.
Duncan is in tonight's lineup, batting ninth as the DH.
