By a 52 - 44 percent margin, New York City baseball fans back the Yankees over the Mets in a Subway Series, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released today. Only Queens residents support the Mets, 55 - 40 percent. The strongest support for the Bombers comes from The Bronx, 66 - 31 percent.Did the people in our polling institute really need to conduct this study? It's pretty obvious that New York is a Yankees town.
The Yankees are the favorite team of 51 percent of New Yorkers while the Mets claim the hearts of 35 percent, the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University poll finds. Another 3 percent cheer for the Red Sox. (Source)

Of course the Yankees are number 1 in NYC. They've been around for over 100 years and didn't abandon the city like the Dodgers and Giants. If I had my way the Yanks and Mets would meet in the World Series every year, with the Yanks winning!
Something that's been going unnoticed among some people: the Yankees now have a better record than the Mets.
