Can you imagine how much Michael Kay (and his over-sized head and ego) is kicking himself over not being there to call Alex Rodriguez's 500th home run?
He definitely had a call pre-written and everything and was not able to use it. Something like, "Rodriguez hits one DEEEEEEP to left,
You can play this game too. Think of the corniest things that come to mind, write them down and then deliver them as Kay would during a game. It's a lot of fun.
"Now, what is this site about, how Joe Torre ruined pitchers' arms? Is that it?"

What's great is that he didn't get to call Jeter's first grand slam either since it was a FOX game. All those times he went over the stat when Derek came up with the bases loaded and he wasn't able to make the call.
Ha, that's very true. That had to kill him.
Yeah, such a shame. He spent every possible second wondering if the next AB was the one for A-Rod to do it.
I'm glad he didn't get to call it. Maybe now he won't constantly try to force things to happen by talking about them incessantly.
I hope he wasn't in the Stadium yesterday. I hope his cable went out at home so he couldn't even watch it.
