Jason Giambi left the game in the fifth inning with a left groin injury and was replaced by Wilson Betemit at designated hitter.
Giambi apparently felt tightness while running the bases on Robinson Cano's single.
According to Peter Abraham, Giambi is day-to-day, but hopes to be in the lineup tomorrow.
“I’m going to come in tomorrow prepared to play,” he said. “I don’t feel anything just walking around.”Despite Giambi seemingly feeling OK, he will most likely be out of the lineup tomorrow. As a result, the Yankees should give Morgan Ensberg a shot at first base. Shelley Duncan threw a ball into the outfield this afternoon and also threw high on another occasion.
