...and FOX switches to NASCAR? Really?
The end of a baseball game between the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees is more important than the start of some cars going around in a circle? The race wasn't even ending! It was just starting! They couldn't wait another minute? You don't even see crashes at the start of a race. That's the only reason people watch anyway.
At school we get the New York FOX affiliate and the Connecticut FOX affiliate. NASCAR was on both. I'd love to find 1,000 people from both markets who care about NASCAR.
And FOX doesn't even apologize to the fans of both teams trying to watch the end of a game that took five hours. They apologize to the FX viewers who were "inconvenienced." They're watching a movie on cable television on a Saturday night. They don't need apologies. They need lives.

It's really simple.
Fox pays $4.48 billion to NASCAR.
Fox is ostensibly paying only $1.5 billion to MLB. They'll get another $1.5 billion from Turner.
The length of the contract is immaterial. They could have postponed the rest of the game to Sunday prior to the ESPN game, or whenever, and NOBODY WOULD HAVE CARED.
Hate to break it to ya folks, but NASCAR is a national event when it airs and no one outside of Boston and NYC, gives a rats ass about these two teams (especially in April) when the race was supposed to be covered from pre-race all the way through. Fox blew this one and there's been a mighty outcry about this today.
FOX could've kept the game airing in New York and Boston's home markets. To switch over in the middle of an at-bat was an absolute disgrace.
A split screen would have been nice, at least until they were between batters...
