I doubt I was the only Yankee fan whose heart was beating rapidly when Jose Veras, Kyle Farnsworth and Ross Ohlendorf were trying to protect the tie game.
I know my heart skipped a beat when Ohlendorf gave up the triple to ex-Yankee (remember?) Mike Lamb.
Ohlendorf had a true "deuces wild" outing - Two innings, two hits and two walks (as well as four strike outs) - but was able to work in and out of trouble in each inning to earn his first victory of the season. Mariano Rivera, as per usual, slammed the door shut for his 15th save.
This victory in 12 innings snapped the Yankees' seven-game extra-inning road losing streak. That shows that this is a game the Yankees normally lose - usually because of a bad bullpen - so it was great to see them pull this one out.
The Yankees are now one game above .500 with the victory and have two more games remaining in Minnesota. Darrell Rasner will make the start tomorrow in hopes of extending the winning streak to four.

"Now, what is this site about, how Joe Torre ruined pitchers' arms? Is that it?"
