Melky Cabrera decided to wake up and hit his first home run since May 4 (117 at-bats). It's a big home run, as it gives the Yankees and Mariano Rivera (who will be used in his fourth straight game) a two-run lead in the ninth inning.
He has hit a little better of late, but has been an overall disappointment after his solid start.
He also needs to stop sliding into first base. There is really no need to and he can get seriously injured. Someone needs to talk to him about that now before it becomes an even bigger problem.
"Now, what is this site about, how Joe Torre ruined pitchers' arms? Is that it?"
