The Yankees deserved to lose tonight. Scoring five runs despite pounding out 15 hits is no way to win a game. They stranded 10 runners on base and grounded into two double plays.
And that was just the offense.
Andy Pettitte could not hold three leads (2-0, 4-2, 5-4). He gave up 10 hits and five runs in seven innings. While he deserved the loss, Kyle Farnsworth gave up the go-ahead run in the eighth inning. He surrendered three hits and one earned run.
In Pettitte's last eight starts, he is 2-4 with a 5.17 ERA. The Yankees are 2-6 in these starts (the only two wins were in his previous two starts). While Pettitte is traditionally a second-half pitcher, one has to be concerned by these numbers.
With the loss, the Yankees are back under .500. They went 3-4 on their seven-game road trip.
I'm disgusted.
"Now, what is this site about, how Joe Torre ruined pitchers' arms? Is that it?"

the reason they deserved to lose is because the scored less runs
The Yankees will win if they score more runs than the other team.
I never told you I was a genius.
I never told you anything about it.
It's too bad Farnsworthless recorded the Loss. It should be credited to Andy "I did steroids once, okay maybe twice" Pettitte.
