The Kansas City Royals came into this game losing 11 straight games in a row.
The Kansas City Royals' starting pitching had a 6.16 career ERA coming into this game.
The New York Yankees were riding high after Jason Giambi's dramatic home run yesterday.
So much for that. The Yankees lost 2-1, despite recording 10 hits (they left nine runners on base). They also wasted one of their best starting pitching performances of the season as well. Darrell Rasner struck out four and gave up two earned runs over eight innings, throwing 118 pitches.
When you think the Yankees will finally rip off a long winning streak, they play a game like this. It's really unbelievable. Maybe this year just isn't meant to be.
"Now, what is this site about, how Joe Torre ruined pitchers' arms? Is that it?"
