"Now, what is this site about, how Joe Torre ruined pitchers' arms? Is that it?"

Yay strategy!

When you meet someone who is a proponent of the National League's style of play, he or she will always say that it's because there is strategy. Double switches, pitchers batting, sacrifice bunts, taking pitchers out at the right time, pinch hitting, etc.

Wow, that sure is scintillating.

I just love having the pitcher's spot up in the middle of a rally with two outs. It's so exciting watching him strike out to kill said rally.

With the Yankees arriving in Houston today, situations like that will inevitably come up, and it will frustrate me to no end. It's bad enough watching Derek Jeter or Bobby Abreu kill a rally. Now you have someone with no ability trying to drive in crucial runs.

Luckily the Yankees have only nine games like these and will hopefully escape with a decent record.

It's a shame that the Yankees will have to sit Johnny Damon, Hideki Matsui or Jason Giambi on a given night. But it'll be nice to see them bat once in the seventh inning!
