Matsui suffers setback, scheduled to return to New York

Bad news for Hideki Matsui.

He did not hit today, as he experienced discomfort in his left knee, according to the AP. It was later found out that he will return to New York in the coming days to be examined by the Yankees' team doctor.

Meanwhile, on the Johnny Damon front: Damon's shoulder is still sore and still hasn't hit off a tee yet.

Surgery remains on option for Matsui. Hopefully Brian Cashman can wake up and make a move here, because a lineup without Matsui and Damon simply won't get things done.
