Cue the jokes: Pavano has a stiff neck

Add this to the litany of injuries: Carl Pavano, who could have possibly started on Saturday, apparently has a stiff neck, according to George King.

I seriously wonder if he's simply afraid to pitch and is looking for excuses to sit out while still collecting the remainder of his $40 million contract. Between the bruised ass, the mysterious car accident, etc., it seems he has no motivation whatsoever.

Add this embarrassment to the failure of this organization since Game 4 of the 2004 ALCS.

When I heard Pavano was waiting in the wings to pitch again -- desperate times call for desperate measures -- I was expecting something to conveniently turn up once again to thwart his success.

Either Cashman is refusing to cut the losses or he's trying to wring dry whatever investment that's left.
