Every time Mike Mussina wins a game, I feel like typing, "Can you believe Mussina won his Xth game?"
Now that we're in the dog days of August and Mussina has continued to pitch well, it's become the norm.
Mussina scattered eight hits over seven shutout innings to win his 15th game of the season. He also lowered his ERA to 3.27 in the process.
Derek Jeter and Robinson Cano both went 3-for-4. Jeter hit a first inning home run and drove in two runs. On the negative side, Alex Rodriguez went 0-for-4 to finish up an 0-for-14 series against his former team.
Also of note: Melky Cabrera didn't start any of the four games this series. This will be something to keep an eye on as the rest of the season progresses.
The Yankees will travel to Anaheim to play three games against the Angles starting tomorrow night.

"Now, what is this site about, how Joe Torre ruined pitchers' arms? Is that it?"

It seems that the God of Double Play has finally let go of Jeter and chosen A-Rod to be the new Father of Many DPs.
