Brian from Reel Sports Fan (get it?) sent me video of Game 5 of the 1961 World Series this morning with the following text: "No playoff baseball this year for Yankees fans, so we have to get the fix somehow." Truer words have never been spoken.
Enjoy this video of the original TV broadcast of Game 5 of the 1961 World Series from Crosley Field in Cincinnati.
"Now, what is this site about, how Joe Torre ruined pitchers' arms? Is that it?"

Thanks for that trip down memory lane! The 1961 Yankees are my favorite team of all time.
Black and white TV. View from behind home plate instead of center field. Limited graphics, old time uniforms, Frank Crocetti "Crow" coaching 3rd base. Wow. And Mel Allen "going, going, gone!"
Most of all it was played during the daytime. I would listen to a transistor radio broadcast on the bus ride home and maybe be able to catch the last inning or so at home.
Yeah, John. I miss those afternoon games when we'd sneak that transistor radio to school and then watch the black-and-white Zenith at home. Nice reminder that it wasn't always an ESPN world.
Why the hell doesn't YES show games from the 50's and 60's?
