Heyman: Yankees ready to top Braves' Burnett offer

According to SI's Jon Heyman, the Yankees are prepared to surpass the Braves' offer for A.J. Burnett.

While the Yankees had been reluctant to give Burnett the full-fledged five-year deal he seeks,. they seem likely to offer a four-year deal for about $64 million. Burnett is being purused [sic] by the Jays, Orioles and Nationals as well.
For all you communications majors out there, that's $16 million per year.

I don't like this news one bit. I think that is way too much money for someone who doesn't have a clean injury history. The Yankees have been blinded by Burnett because he dominated them when he was with the Blue Jays.

Your thoughts?
