Teixeira goes from hero to goat in 2 innings

After Mark Teixeira hit a bases-clearing double in the eighth inning to tie the score, it looked like he may have finally arrived.

Not so fast my friend.

He popped up with Johnny Damon at third with one out in the 10th inning down by one.  Terrible.  Just awful.

This team is pathetic, and I’m at a loss for words.

I don't know what I'm more annoyed with at this point. After Teixeira cleared the bases there was the rain delay. Afterwards, Matsui was impatient with the pitches and ended the threat in an all too quick fashion. The 9th inning was another great opportunity, and I'm sure Molina was anticipating a group hug at home plate for a walk-off win. But he too was impatient and killed that rally.

Then you had the proverbial bullpen fiasco. Coke comes in, and poof, the tied score was gone in an instant. Another golden opportunity in the 10th (damn those ground rule doubles!) but Tex lost interest and Matsui decided to do an encore choke job with the game on the line.

It's hard to see them turning it around right now. One month in, and Toronto is hot for some reason, and the Rays have already beaten us and the Red Sox a few times.

There is a lot of blame to go around. Unfortunately, A-Rod is about to return but Posada got hurt. One step forward, two steps back. It's really depressing.

Sure Tex isn't there yet, but what's Jeter's excuse? We knew his fielding has declined over the last couple of years, but this year his bat is virtually non-existent especially with men on base. We need someone else at lead off. Damon might be better but then Jeter would hit into so many double plays.

Wouldn't it have been great if we were able to go to Joba instead of Coke in the 10th? The only bright spot I see with this team right now is Pena. At the very minimum he's our new Cairo/Sojo utility guy.

No I didn't forget AJ. It seems we paid him and CC all that money to make what these days they call those 'quality' starts giving up 3 or 4 runs.
Disapponting!

The guy gets a bases clearing double, then you rip him apart because he hits a pop up in the pouring rain in the 10th? The guy's not gonna get a hit every time.

Have a little patient. This ranting sounds more like a typical fan of the crosstown team with such panic this early.
