Old-Timers' Day is always lots of fun, and we'll witness the largest collection of former Yankees at an Old-Timers' Day ever today.
According to the press release, ceremonies will begin at 1:45 p.m. YES' coverage begins at 1:30 p.m.
First-time old-timers from my era include David Wells, Ramiro Mendoza, Jimmy Key, Tino Martinez, Al Leiter, Graeme Lloyd and Tim Raines. Paul O'Neill will be there again, as well as Luis Sojo and Darryl Strawberry.
Unfortunately, Bernie Williams will be unable to attend. I read that he had a prior commitment and he no longer harbors any resentment toward the Yankees.
This is the last one these at the current stadium, so you should tune in if you're around. It's historic, or something.
"Now, what is this site about, how Joe Torre ruined pitchers' arms? Is that it?"

Strawberry writing memoir
Former Yankee and Met Darryl Strawberry is writing a memoir that is scheduled to come out next year, according to publisher Ecco. The book is titled "Straw."
According to Ecco, an imprint of HarperCollins, Strawberry’s book “details his life growing up in Crenshaw, Los Angeles, his rise to baseball superstardom as a Met, Dodger, and Yankee, the high life and low life, his brushes with the law, his triumphant battle over cancer, his religious awakening, and his marriage to the love of his life.”Strawberry has always been an interesting figure in New York sports, so this memoir could be worth reading. Strawberry is currently working as a pre- and post-game analyst on SNY, the Mets' cable network.
