Tonight’s game has been postponed

So there you have it.  CC Sabathia and David Price tomorrow.  The makeup game will not be played in this series, reports Peter Abraham.

As you can see, I have not been posting as much as I’d like to.  On Monday, I began my summer internship in the city and am gone all morning and afternoon with no time to post at all.  I hope you understand.

Today’s series opener against the A’s has been called due to rain.  A makeup date has yet to be announced.

Those grounds crew guys just came out to take the tarp off, when it started raining. Riiiiight. So now the estimated start time is 4:20. Stay tuned.

Update: Well now I just have no idea what's going on. It's raining harder, but the tarp is being removed. Makes perfect sense, right?

So if you're just turning on Fox and you're confused as to why the Cubs/White Sox game is on, this is the reason.

The Padres got a day game

When the Padres were in town, they got a day game before flying back to San Diego.

But not the big, bad Yankees! Meanwhile, the game is being delayed, Mike Mussina may have to leave the game if play resumes, and there are two games in two stadiums to be played tomorrow.

Tarp's off

The tarp is off the field and the game will begin within the next few minutes.

So everyone can flip to YES and enjoy the game.

The tarp is on the field and the game will not be starting on time tonight.

Above is the radar for the Bronx. It looks like they'll be able to start playing eventually.

Wet Bronx (again)

The forecast is calling for another rainy night at the Stadium. I was in Queens and the Bronx earlier today, and the weather was not pretty.

It appears the rain will let up a bit as the night progresses, but it also looks like the game could be delayed if this forecast holds true.

Postponed

Peter Abraham, the man at the Stadium, is reporting that the game has been postponed with no announced makeup date.

I can't believe they sent everyone to the Stadium only to call the game less than 10 minutes after the scheduled first pitch.

We have a delay

The tarp is still on the field and the rain is still coming down.

The Yankees want to try to get this game in tonight, so I'll give an update should the game start.

If anything, the Yankees got some extra money from concessions and parking.

Wet Bronx

The weather in the Bronx does not look good for tonight's Subway Series opener. Looking at this, I'd be shocked if they played.

It is expected that there will be a day-night doubleheader tomorrow if tonight's game is rained out.

Game rained out

The final game of the three-game series between the Yankees and Tigers has been rained out. No makeup date has been scheduled.

The Yankees finish the week with a record of 19-19.

Wet Detroit

The forecast for Detroit does not look good today. After 5:00 p.m., the weather does not get any better. In fact, it gets worse around 7 p.m.

This is the last game of the series and it's the Yankees' only trip to this wonderful city of the season, so they may do all they can to try and get this game in. Keep in mind that the Yankees have a 7:10 p.m. game in St. Petersburg, Fla. tomorrow night.
