Rehabbing Yankees

The AP has an update on all of our favorite injured Yankees.

In summation:

  • Hideki Matsui: Took 55 swings and also hit off a tee for the fourth straight day. He will also take batting practice tomorrow.
  • Johnny Damon: Plans to hit off a tee on Monday, as he had treatment on his shoulder today.
  • Phil Hughes: Threw 25 pitches off the mound and is still targeting a September return.
  • Humberto Sanchez: Struck out two in a perfect inning of work for the GCL Yankees. A Rockies' scout was looking at Sanchez pitch, as the Yankees are interested in acquiring reliever Brian Fuentes.
