Betemit gets a raise

Wilson Betemit, traded to the White Sox in the Nick Swisher deal, is getting a pay raise.

He will receive $1.3 million. He made $1.165 million last season after hitting .265 with six home runs and 25 RBI.

$1,300,000 doesn't buy what it used to these days. It's signings like this one that makes me wish I played professional baseball.
