Last night, there was word that the Dodgers "suggested" a one-year, $25 million offer to Manny Ramirez. Any sane person most likely would have jumped at seeing such an offer.
Not Ramirez.
Ramirez, who already turned down a two-year, $45 million offer, immediately said no. As a result, he is about 10 days away from being unemployed when pitchers and catchers have to report.
What on earth is he looking for? Is he just getting bad advice from Scott Boras, or is he truly insane? I doubt any team will play him close to $25 million annually this late in the game.
And no, I'm not advocating for his signing here. That ship has sailed. But I'll post his hat picture anyway. I missed having fun with these pictures.
"Now, what is this site about, how Joe Torre ruined pitchers' arms? Is that it?"

Manny is nuts (but we knew that already)

It has to be Boras. It's always Boras, but especially for a guy like Manny. He must think a team like SF, CitiMets, or Washington will swoop in with a two-three year deal. He should have accepted either of these LA deals and will end up with a one-year deal at the last second, as you alluded to.
How glorious would it be if no one offers Manny more and the Dodgers pick up Dunn at half the price? Then he could spend the whole season quitting on Scott Boras' Beer League Team!!
