Game recap: Diamondbacks at Yankees 6/12/07

Bobby Abreu continued his hot hitting and Chien-Ming Wang (6-4) continued his hot pitching Tuesday night, as the Yankees beat the Arizona Diamondbacks by a score of 4-1 to win the first game of a three-game series.

After Johnny Damon reached first on a error to lead off the game, Derek Jeter singled. Abreu then hit a long home run to right field to give the Yankees an early 3-0 lead. They never looked back.

Wang was brilliant, as he pitched seven strong innings and only allowed six hits. The only run he gave up was on a Chad Tracy solo home run to right.

Arizona starter Brandon Webb (6-4) settled down after the first inning. He only gave up five hits on the night and struck out four.

Kyle Farnsworth came into the game in the eighth inning to relieve Wang. He promptly gave up a double to Stephen Drew, but he was then able to get out of the inning without giving up a run.

The Yankees added an insurance run in the bottom of the eighth. Hideki Matsui led off with a walk and then Robinson Cano doubled. Matsui was able to score after a Melky Cabrera double play ball.

Mariano Rivera worked the ninth for his eighth save of the year.

The Yankees have now won seven games in a row and are at .500 again, with a record of 31-31. Mike Mussina will square off against Livan Hernandez tomorrow night at the Stadium.

You should call this blog, SCOTT PROCTOR'S ILLEGITIMATE BABY...

Scott Proctor is a quality individual. He wouldn't have any illegitimate children.

Proctor may in fact be a "quality individual" but he most definitely has a child with Tiffany from YES Road trip. Since she's not his wife, I guess that makes the baby illegitimate
