A look at the standings

Now that all of the Sunday games have been completed, here is an updated look at the American League East standings and the American League Wild Card standings.

Since last Sunday, the Yankees have gained a half-game on the Tigers in the Wild Card race and have not lost any ground in the AL East. This week, the Yankees went 3-3, Detroit went 3-4 and Boston went 3-3.

The Tigers magic number to eliminate the Yankees is 101.
