After the Yankees made three outs in the top half of the ninth, the game was officially over today. The Yankees were losing and they were the road team in Sarasota, Fla.
However, Joe Girardi, with the permission of the Cincinnati Reds and the umpires, was allowed to bring his team out on the field to allow Steven Jackson to get some work in.
This turned out to be a bad idea. Jackson allowed four runs, while only retiring one batter, before Girardi ended it.
It will go down in the books as a 12-8 Grapefruit League loss. But Jackson sure didn't impress his manager after this performance.
"Now, what is this site about, how Joe Torre ruined pitchers' arms? Is that it?"
