Jorge Posada will indeed go on the disabled list for the first time in his career with the torn shoulder. He will also visit Dr. James Andrews sometime this week, which is never a good sign.
To replace Posada on the roster, the Yankees will call up Chris Stewart. Stewart, 26, has 23 games of Major League experience, playing six games with the Chicago White Sox in 2006 and 17 games with the Texas Rangers last season. He has nine hits in 45 at-bats.
In 15 games with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this season, Stewart has 12 hits in 40 at-bats. He has three RBI and has walked seven times while striking out only once.
"Now, what is this site about, how Joe Torre ruined pitchers' arms? Is that it?"

Sal Fasano? Where are you?
You "one upped" the NY Times who reported that the Yankees had no other catchers in the system with major league experience. It may only be 26 games, but it is major league time.
Good on ya!
