"Now, what is this site about, how Joe Torre ruined pitchers' arms? Is that it?"

Friday morning perspective

If you ever think you have it bad, just remember that at least you're not a Chicago Cubs fan.

The Cubs have looked absolutely dreadful in their two games at home and they are now one loss away from not winning the World Series in 100 straight years. The sadist in me wants to see the Cubs win both games at Dodger Stadium and then lose the fifth game at home.

Eight years doesn't seem like a long time in comparison.

Why do the MLB bother to let the Angels take part in the playoffs?
They are going to lose to the Red Sox anyway. The Angels should be banned from the playoffs once and for all.

Perhaps some Cubs fans need to find another team, one with an actual winning tradition. Most of them still seem clueless about the team's history, otherwise every crushing postseason loss would be treated as the same old, same old. The fans would have a nonchalant look of "Oh, well." Instead we get nothing but the same long faces year in and year out.

That said, if the Dodgers sweep the Cubs, everyone is going to wonder why Torre didn't do that for the Yankees in ages. Also, the last time he had a team win three straight in dominating fashion, something happened...

Speaking of the Angels, I'm glad they're the ones on the verge of best record = one and done. They need more first round bumps like this, payback for what they did to the Yankees. It was great how their hot reliever got lit up and put the team on the brink of elimination.

I'm not glad the Angels are on the verge of being swept. Every time they lose to the Red Sox, Boston goes on to win the World Series.

I'd hate it if the World Series turns out to be Dodgers/Red Sox this year.
