Bernie Williams hoping to play for Puerto Rico

Bernie Williams is hoping to play for Puerto Rico in the World Baseball Classic this spring. As a result, he will fly there to play winter ball, according to ESPN's Bonnie Bernstein.

Williams, as you may remember, played for Puerto Rico in 2006.

Puerto Rico's manager says Wiliams could be used as a designated or pinch hitter, as Carlos Beltran and Alex Rios have already committed to playing two of the three outfield spots.

Also, as Bernstein mentions, Williams' second album is due out in the spring.
