Former Yankee shortstop and announcer Tony Kubek won the 2009 Ford C. Frick award today, a broadcasting award given by the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
Kubek played for the Yankees from 1957-1965. He was later an analyst on NBC's "Game of the Week."
He is the first announcer to win the Frick Award exclusively as an analyst.
Another former Yankee, Joe Gordon, was elected into the Hall of Fame yesterday by the Veterans Committee.
"Now, what is this site about, how Joe Torre ruined pitchers' arms? Is that it?"
