The Yankees will begin the Division Series on Thursday at Jacobs Field, after Boston picked the eight-day Division Series 'B.' Chien-Ming Wang will start game one against C.C. Sabathia. (MLB.com)
Hideki Matsui had his right knee drained yesterday. He will be the designated hitter throughout the playoffs, with Johnny Damon playing left field. (MLB.com)
You can buy some sweet Wild Card gear on MLB Shop. Personally, I'd never buy anything involving winning the Wild Card, AL East or the American League. It's World Series or nothing when it comes to "winning" apparel.

Some (depressing) news
Doug Mientkiewicz will go on the Pavano List (PL) after yesterday's collision at first base. He was carted off the field and taken to a local hospital. He has been diagnosed with a mild concussion, cervical spain, and a fractured bone in his wrist (source). It has not been announced who is coming up to replace him, but Andy Phillips is not in the AAA Scranton/Wilkes-Barre lineup today, while Shelley Duncan is. If Phillips is called up, the Yankees would most likely move Carl Pavano to the 60-day PL, as Phillips is not on the 40-man roster.
Roger Clemens will not start tomorrow. However, it appears that Kei Igawa won't be making that start either. He is pitching for Scranton this afternoon. As of now, tomorrow night's starter remains a mystery.
Johnny Damon was spotted working at first base yesterday afternoon (source). According to Damon, he will play first eventually, which could mean that they won't call up a first baseman.
